National Hispanic Education Sunday

Program Description

The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, has designated the first Sunday of September as National Hispanic Education Sunday. On this day, we encourage all members to highlight the divine intersection of faith and education. The NHCLC will provide a sample sermon and Bible study teaching to be used by the church. The resources can be downloaded from the NHCLC website.

Each church will implement this program to suit their particular needs, but here are a few suggestions:

  • Use resources provided by NHCLC
  • Have a local Christian teacher / professor bring the message
  • Have church members wear T-shirts /gear to reflect their favorite college or alma mater.
  • Place college banners in Sunday school rooms or nursery
  • Be sure to emphasize the importance of educational success to all present.

We urge our nation’s leaders to work together with this Coalition to implement education policies that support high standards and educational equity.
