Isela Roach, First Recipient of DBU-NHCLC Scholarship Graduates

Rev. Girien Salazar, director of the Faith and Education Coalition, and the Executive Committee of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, would like to congratulate Isela Lee Roach for graduating with her B.A. in Criminal Justice from Dallas Baptist University.

Ms. Roach was the first ever recipient of the DBU-NHCLC Scholarship which awards $5,000 annually to qualified Hispanic students who are enrolled full-time at DBU. She received $2,500 annually from Fall 2016 through Fall 2018. Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the NHCLC, and Dr. Adam Wright, president of DBU, decided to form the relationship between the two organizations for the purposes of (1) building God’s Kingdom and (2) addressing the educational and academic needs of the Hispanic community in America. DBU holds the designation as NHCLC’s premier education sponsor.

Starting in January 2019, Ms. Roach will begin her new job as the Teen/Adult Spanish Librarian for the City of Grand Prairie. She hopes to continue her studies and earn a graduate degree in Library Science.

Way to go, Isela! We know God will use you mightily as a vessel for the Honor and Glory of Jesus Christ.

The Rev. Girien Salazar
Director, Faith and Education Coalition-NHCLC
